Guided tours of the Central Library
Guided tours by arrangement
The Library organizes guided tours by arrangement for groups of Library (potential) users. One of our staff will take you round the various collections and facilities of the Library and will give special attention to the new (digital) services supplied by the Library. There are no guided tours during exams periods and Summer holiday.
On request
Perhaps you would like the guided tour to include specific content-related themes. Or would you like to combine the guided tour with a lecture? It’s all possible.
The guided tour is conducted in either Dutch or English.
A visit to the Trésor
The guided tour also includes a visit to the Trésor, where the rarest and most valuable books in the Library collection are kept.
Submit request two weeks in advance
Tour requests must be submitted two weeks in advance. Tours are not offered during exams weeks or during the summer holidays. The library reserves the right to cancel a tour without stating reasons until 24 hours before due to start. A guided tour is conducted in either Dutch or English.
For architects
The architecture firm Mecanoo gives groups of architects the chance to take a guided tour that focuses on the construction and design of the building. Interested parties should contact Mecanoo.

Rondleidingen in de centrale vestiging van de bibliotheek
Rondleidingen op afspraak
De bibliotheek verzorgt rondleidingen op afspraak voor groepen van (potentiële) gebruikers van de bibliotheek. Een van onze medewerkers leidt u langs de verschillende collecties en faciliteiten van de bibliotheek en geeft in het bijzonder uitleg over de nieuwe (digitale) diensten die de bibliotheek aanbiedt. Gedurende de tentamenperiodes en de zomervakantie worden er geen rondleidingen verzorgd.
Op verzoek
Misschien zijn er specifiek inhoudelijke onderwerpen waarop u de rondleiding graag afgestemd wilt zien. Of wilt u de rondleiding koppelen aan een lezing. Het is allemaal mogelijk.
De voertaal tijdens een rondleiding is Nederlands of Engels.
Bezoek aan het Trésor
Tijdens de rondleiding wordt ook een bezoek gebracht aan het Trésor, waar de meest kostbare en zeldzame boeken uit de bibliotheekcollectie worden bewaard.
Twee weken vantevoren indienen
Het verzoek om een rondleiding dient 2 weken van tevoren te zijn ingediend. Tijdens tentamens en in de zomerperiode worden geen rondleidingen gegeven. De Bibliotheek behoudt zich het recht voor om tot 24 uur voorafgaand aan een rondleiding, deze zonder opgaaf van redenen te annuleren. Tijdens een rondleiding is de voertaal Nederlands of Engels.
Voor architecten
Voor groepen architecten biedt architectenbureau Mecanoo de mogelijkheid voor een rondleiding die zich toespitst op de bouw en het ontwerp van het gebouw. Geïnteresseerden kunnen hiervoor contact opnemen met Mecanoo.
